Would you like your service to participate in Playful Communities while also engaging with your local authority?
Playful Communities offer a cost-effective and accessible way to transform streets into vibrant play spaces. These initiatives provide children and neighbours with a safe environment to play and socialise outdoors, fostering a sense of community just as many experienced in their own childhoods. Playful Communities can be organised as one-time events or as recurring activities within your service or neighbourhood.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to receive training and access to play packs to independently plan and facilitate future events, this initiative is particularly beneficial for Eary Years services. Playful Communities aligns with and complements the principles of Aistear Siolta, the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework, by promoting active, play based learning in outdoor and community settings. Through Playful Communities children can engage in meaningful, social and exploratory play experiences that support their holistic development, reinforcing the key themes as outlined in Aistear Siolta:
Well-being
Identity
Belonging
Communicating
Exploring and Thinking
We invite you to join a Playful Communities Information Session, where you can learn more about the implementation process and the benefits of integrating Playful Communities within both your service and the wider community.
